| On Saturday 10 October the EES launched its 2009 campaign to raise funds for the conservation, preservation and curation of material held in the Lucy Gura Archive which holds the records of the Society's excavations in Egypt and Sudan since 1883.Members who attended the event, held at the Society of Antiquaries in London, heard talks by Dr Stephen Quirke, Dr Robert Morkot and Mr Chris Naunton. The talks were followed by a reception and several members gave substantial donations on the day, for which the Society is extremely grateful. Full details of the fund-raising campaign have now been sent all EES members and more donations are now being received. | ||||||||
