EA Book Reviews turn digital
We are expanding the digital elements of our biannual Egyptian Archaeology magazine for EES Members. You will have noticed that the most recent issues of EA have been made available to read online. Now, we are sharing book reviews written for readers of Egyptian Archaeology online via our website. Some of these you will see in our printed issue of the magazine, whilst some will be online exclusives!
Visit our website for recommendations of the latest publications within the field of Egyptology and related disciplines. To start, in autumn 2024, you can find a range of reviews on books covering the history of ancient Egypt, including The Archaeology of Pharaonic Egypt: Society and Culture, 2700–1700 BC by Richard Bussmann reviewed by Campbell Price and The Middle Kingdom of Ancient Egypt (second edition) by Wolfram Grajetzki reviewed by Leire Olabarria.
This move to digital content means we can share even more reviews than we could in our print magazine. Our first online exclusive is by Chris Elliott on Alternative Egyptology: Critical Essays on the Relation between Academic and Alternative Interpretations of Ancient Egypt edited by Ben van den Bercken.
Of course, we will slowly add more reviews to this page throughout the year, so keep checking back to see more! All content associated with our Egyptian Archaeology magazine is available to EES members only. If you’re not yet a member but would like to join in order to access this content, then please ensure that you join us here. Subscriptions include donations to support Egypt’s cultural heritage.
If you would like to submit a book review for digital or print publication, please contact the Editor of the magazine Charlotte Jordan at [email protected].
