Launching a new research portal

In 2024 and 2025, thanks to support from the British Academy and the Barakat Trust, the Egypt Exploration Society worked together with other British International Research Institutions to explore the ways in which heritage is impacted by climate change and methods for adapting to those factors.

We’ve now launched a new online Climate Change and Heritage Adaptation portal where you can find information about the project, our collaborative partners, and resources for those working in the MENA region. You’ll also find announcements of forthcoming events related to the subject and details of previous events (including recordings where available).

The EES will continue to explore this important subject over the next year and add to the Climate Change and Heritage Adaptation portal over the course of our discussions. We look forward to working with partners across the region to secure a bright future for heritage there, and we hope to welcome you to many of the events to come!
