Ninth Delta Survey Conference

The Ninth Delta Survey Conference was held at the British Council, Cairo from 10th to 12th April 2025. The Conference is held in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and is organised by the EES Delta Survey special project of the British Academy.
This year, 32 projects presented their latest updates to almost 200 attendees both online and in-person. We were delighted that Nouran Ibrahim and her team of live translators were able to make the conference more accessible via our online platform, which enabled presentations to be delivered in either Arabic or English.
Seven posters were submitted and presented at the British Council and are now available to view online here:

Reflecting on the conference, Penny Wilson closed with:
the Delta Survey Conference is always a reminder of the long-standing projects and new work that is being carried out in the Delta, highlighting its vibrant archaeological culture and significant contribution to understanding Egyptian civilization
The next Delta Survey Conference will be held in 2027, marking the 30th anniversary of the EES Delta Survey, and the 10th Conference. We look forward to hearing further updates then and, in the meantime, seeing the latest results published in the next issue of Delta Reports.
