The Tomb of Wahty, Saqqara

Built more than 4500 years ago, the Step Pyramid is the earliest monumental stone structure on the planet and This tomb was discovered at Saqqara in November 2018 by a team led by Dr Mostafa Waziri of Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities. It was built to be the resting place of Wahty, an official during the 5th Dynasty reign of Neferirkare Kakai. This highly ornate tomb, over 4000 years old, includes statues carved into the bedrock showing Wahty alongside his wife (Weret Ptah) and mother (Merit Meen).
